David Malliaros received his Ph.D. in Biochemistry at the University of Massachusetts, Lowell. After receiving his degree, he worked in the Food and Drug Laboratory of Peter Goldman, M.D. at Harvard School of Public Health (Dept. of Nutrition) & Harvard Medical School (Dept. of Molecular Pharmacology and Biological Chemistry) as a post-doctoral fellow focusing on the biopharmacology of the anti-microbial drug metronidazole. He then moved on to work in the immunodiagnostics industry developing latex and gold particle agglutination assays as well as chemiluminescent assays for automated instrumentation. This was followed by a move to the pharmaceutical industry focusing on Quality Control and Analytical Development in the areas of vaccines, hyper immunoglobulins , biologics including fusion proteins and monoclonal antibodies, combination products, orally-administered peptides and more recently AAV-base gene therapy for rare diseases.
